could be improved, I've got about $30 set aside to use as well as some
cards to do some trades as well.

Alright, a Ritual deck! Haven’t seen one of these in a loong time. (:

MONSTER ANALYSIS

Well when we first look at the deck, I see a big problem. Brian is running waaay waaaay too many of the Djinn kids. He should be running 1, the Releaser of Rituals. 1300/2000, broken effect, the other kids just can’t compare. Especially since Garandolph wipes the field, your opponent will be hard pressed to counter, especially without special summons. I think we will be playing 2 of him. For the new Djinn cards, the only one I see as cool would be Disserere, to stop Bottomless and other pesky Trap cards. This makes Garandolph almost invincible (few SS monsters over 2500 and also immune to Traps, leaving only the Monarchs able to hit him as commonly played cards.)

Brian is also going with a bit of a Chaos route, which is really cool in my opinion. The themes blend rather well, and dropping Sorc after Garandolph (I think he’s German but I don’t know) hits is just broken. With only 30 dollars, we can’t include the infamous Dark Armed Dragon, but non-budget players should definitely try him out. (I think he is at 40 right now.)

This is the new monster line-up:

Monsters: 20
3x Garandolph, King of Destruction
3x Manju of the Ten-Thousand Hands
2x Djinn Disserere of Rituals
2x Djinn Releaser of Rituals
2x Mystic Tomato
2x Krebons (+0.5)
2x Armageddon Knight
1x Sangan
1x Chaos Sorcerer 3 LIGHT is enough for 1 copy.
1x Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind (+4)

I’ve gotten rid of a lot of the random monsters (Cydra isn’t that great here because the extra 2100 aggro damage is pretty uneffective, especially compared to the 2500 Garandolph could inflict if you devote more spots to him coming out.) I also play some Tuners to help bust out Synchros. Going Garandolph then playing Stardust is pretty devastating.

BACKROW ANALYSIS:
For the Spells and Traps, I would opt to play more Traps and less Spells. A bit more defense would be excellent for this deck. Brian doesn’t need that many Ritual Spells now that I’ve given him a stronger backbone. I would say cut those and a few of the other rather unneeded cards for some strong defensive cards like Bottomless and perhaps Trap Hole (good against Blackwings.)
Royal Decree is cool but uneeded now that we have Disserere. A popular fad is to tech an Oppression for after your explosion. I’m going to be a sheep and do that. It actually works really well against Glads. I was working with a friend on his Twilight deck and we cut off his last Gold Sarcophagus for an Oppression earlier today and it’s really helped out agaisnt the Gladiator Beast matchup

Spells: 13

3x Preparation of Rites
3x Ritual of Destruction
1x Allure of Darkness (+1)
1x Foolish Burial (+1)
1x Heavy Storm
1x Brain Control
1x Mind Control
1x Giant Trunade
1x Mystical Space Typhoon

Traps: 7

3x Threatening Roar (+1)
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Royal Oppression (+1)

So far we’ve spent 8 bucks out of Brian’s 30 dollar budget. I think we can make a makeshift Synchro deck out of that money.

1x Stardust Dragon (6)
1x Colossal Fighter (5)
1x Goyo Guardian (5)
1x Black Rose Dragon (6)
